There is no hard limit imposed by PDFScanner. You can merge as many PDF files as your device's memory can handle. Most modern computers can comfortably merge 50+ PDFs without any issues.
Will merging PDFs reduce their quality?▼
No. pdf-lib merges files by copying page content streams directly without re-encoding any data. Images, fonts, and formatting are preserved exactly as they appear in the original files.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?▼
Owner-locked PDFs (where you can open but not edit) can generally be merged. User-password PDFs (where you need a password to open) cannot be merged without first unlocking them using our Unlock PDF tool.
Can I change the order of pages after merging?▼

After merging your files, click the "Save to Google Drive" button below the download button. On your first use, PDF Scanner will ask you to authorize access. Once authorized, your merged PDF saves directly to your Drive folder.
Is my Google Drive data safe with PDF Scanner?▼
Absolutely. PDFScanner.io only requests permission to save files to your Drive. We cannot read, access, or modify your existing Google Drive files. All PDF processing happens entirely in your browser — your files never touch our servers.
Do I need a Google account to merge PDFs?▼
No. The standard download button works without any account. The Google Drive save feature is completely optional — it's just a convenient way to store your merged file directly in the cloud.
Can I revoke PDF Scanner's access to my Google Drive?▼
Yes, at any time. Visit your Google Account permissions page at myaccount.google.com/permissions, find "PDFScanner" in the list of connected apps, and click "Remove access."
