What Is an Owner-Restricted PDF?
PDF documents have two types of passwords: a user password that prevents opening the file, and an owner password (also called permissions password) that restricts actions like printing, copying text, or editing — but still allows the file to be opened without a password. This tool removes owner-level restrictions from PDFs you can already open.
This Tool Cannot Remove User Passwords
If a PDF requires a password to open, this tool will not be able to unlock it. User-password removal requires brute-force decryption or access to the original password, which is not something that can be done reliably in a browser without significant computing resources.
